For being softer and more porous than other stones like granite, marble is not recommended for high traffic areas. Mainly because its properties make it more susceptible to scratches and stains.
Marble slabs and tiles are commonly used on bathroom vanity tops, backsplashes, fireplaces and bar-top designs. But that doesn’t mean you should completely discard it on your kitchen, if that was your intention.
If your kitchen countertops are not used so intensely, marble is a great option when paired with a good sealant.
